This notice explains who we are, what (if any) personal data we process when you visit chapternorth.com, the legal basis on which we do so, and your rights under UK data protection law. We have written it to be as short and plain as possible because, in practice, this site collects very little.
Who we are
Chapter North (“we”, “us”, “our”) is the data controller for any personal data processed in connection with this website. For any questions about this notice or your personal data, please contact us via LinkedIn.
What personal data we collect
You can browse this entire website without giving us any personal information. We do not require you to create an account, and there are no contact forms, comments, newsletter sign-ups, or tracking pixels on this site.
If you choose to contact us directly (for example, via LinkedIn), we will process the contact details and the content of the message you send us. We rely on our legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) — namely, responding to enquiries about our work — as the lawful basis for this. We use this information solely to reply to you and we do not add you to any marketing list.
Cookies and similar technologies
Under PECR, we must tell you about any information stored on or accessed from your device, and obtain your consent for anything that is not strictly necessary. The good news: this site does not set any cookies at all — no tracking, advertising, analytics, third-party, or first-party cookies — and stores nothing in your browser’s local or session storage.
Because nothing non-essential is stored on your device, we do not show a cookie banner. If that ever changes, we will update this notice and ask for your consent through a banner before enabling anything new.
Managing your choice
You can remove the consent entry at any time by clearing site data for chapternorth.com in your browser settings, which will cause the notice to reappear on your next visit. Most browsers also let you block local storage entirely; doing so will not affect your ability to read this site.
How the site is hosted
This website is built and hosted on third-party infrastructure provided by Lovable. As is standard for any website, the hosting provider may automatically process technical request data (such as your IP address, user agent, and the page requested) in transient server logs for the purposes of security, abuse prevention, and service reliability. These logs are not used by us to identify or profile visitors. You can read Lovable’s policies at lovable.dev/privacy.
Data sharing and international transfers
We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for their own purposes. Where our hosting provider processes data on our behalf outside the UK, transfers are protected by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or an equivalent safeguard recognised under UK GDPR.
How long we keep data
We keep correspondence you send us only for as long as necessary to respond to your enquiry and to maintain a reasonable record of our professional contact, after which it is deleted. The local-storage entry described above persists in your own browser until you clear it.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- Request erasure of your data (the “right to be forgotten”);
- Restrict or object to our processing of your data;
- Request the portability of data you have provided to us; and
- Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us via LinkedIn. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK’s data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Children
This website is intended for a professional audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data relating to children.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes — for example, the introduction of any analytics or third-party cookies — will be notified through the cookie banner on your next visit.
